The Department of Nursing Science Delta State University, Abraka to host the Nigerian University Nursing Students’ Association (NUNSA) 2021 annual south-south zonal convention. The convention which is to take place in Delta State University, Abraka will bring together all nursing notable leaders from far and near and it will be a subject of discussion in Nigeria Nursing communities.
The convention will be featuring a symposium session, with Dr. M. I Ofili as the keynote address speaker. In attendance will be the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka Prof. Andy O. Ewgunyenya, as distinguished guest of honour, Provost college of Health Sciences Prof. Lawrence O. Omo-Aghoja, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences Prof. Eze K. Nwangwa, HOD, of Nursing Departemnt, DELSU Barr. (Mrs) Obataze J. Akpoyovwere, Director of Health Services, Delta State University, Abraka Dr. Simeon Onakughotor, Director of Wisdom Class Nig. Dr. Uche Esegbue, Mrs. Carol Erhirhie and HOD of Nursing Service DELSUTH Mrs Notoma Tega.
The convention which is taking place from 13th-17th September 2021 is themed “Transforming Nursing Education and Practice Through Innovation and Education.”
Giving more information about the convention the Zonal Coordinator Comrd, Precious Isikadi Ex-President Nigerian Universities Nursing Students’ Association (NUNSA) DELSU Chapter said that the convention will feature events like Quiz Competition, Pagentry, NUNSA Tour, Magazine launching, Talent HUNT, Chess competition, Gele tying competition, Zonal congress where members and leaders of the south-south zone will gather and discuss on the challenges and progress of the association, also a certification workshop featuring IPC Experts from Lily Hospital Warri, Delta State and many more other things.
The convention will also have in attendance the past and present leaders of Nigerian Universities Nursing Students Association (NUNSA) namely: Khadija Moturanyo Musa NUNSA National President, Ruben Markus Ex-President NUNSA National, Ojubor Jude oforbuike Ex-Sec Gen NUNSA National, Moses Anya Ex-President NUNSA-UNIBEN & Ex-Senate President NUNSA, National, Cmrd. The second day, September 14th, 2021 will be a major talking point of the convention with nursing leaders in attendance highlighting major issues as it affects the profession.
