Nursing profession is at revolutionary era. Achieving health coverage and combating the menace of maternal mortality is solely base on stakeholders’ commitment in empowering and transforming healthcare delivery system. It is known to global eyes that Nurses are the heart of Healthcare industry as such, employing human resources, empowering those in service, preforming researches are vital role.
The commitment of NMCN over it’s purpose of existence is commendajle, but rather the so called ‘Training two stream of Nurses and midwives per year ‘ is welcome development in increasing their number in the country, because there is already a lot of them unemployed. I think the council should advice government to employ the existing ones before embarking on the next level.

What NMCN is trying to do for Year Of Nurses and Midwives is very bad idea, there should be ways of employment of the nurses on ground not producing more, the more nurses are produced the lesser our value. See NCE holders they are much and less job opportunities for them. Pls let say no to this!
