Citing everyday human experience, the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives NANNM has urged Nurses to be united in prayer and ‘make out time to pray for our profession, association, our leaders at all levels and Nigeria in general.
Michael NNACHI made this call while wishing Nigerian Nurses a happy easter celebration. He appreciated the sacrifices of Nigerian nurses at home or at the patient’s bedside and wished them a wonderful and blessed Easter Celebrations. He noted that Easter commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and as nurses we must aspire to be like Christ Jesus in spreading his message of healing the sick and doing good for others which is at the core of nursing.
The NANNM president prayed for Nurses and other health workers all over Nigeria working around the clock and called on the federal government to do more to secure the lives and properties of all Nigerians amidst the mindless killings and bloodshed all over the nation. He also called on the National Assembly to do more in addressing legislative issues and challenges bedeviling the Nursing profession
He assured Nurses that his administration would continually work to elevate nurses and the profession. He urged Nurses to keep an open mind and reaffirmed that ‘we shall come together to interact as expected. He added ‘I am very anxious to see and hear from you just as you are expectant to see and hear from me’.
Comrade Michael reiterated his open-door policy to all Nurses of every cadre and welcomed suggestions and ideas from all on how to move the profession to its rightful place as it is globally. He noted that his administration would ensure that every walls of divide that has polarized Nurses would be brought down.
