BASIC NURSING
The Basic nursing program is a three (3) year Basic General Nursing Program, it is hospital-based and at the end of the three years you will be awarded a Certificate in General Nursing (RN) upon completion, you will be regarded as a Registered Nurse.
BASIC MIDWIFERY
This is a three (3) year of the Basic Midwifery training program, at the end of which you will be awarded a diploma in General Midwifery and upon completion, you will be regarded as a Registered Midwife (RM).
Upon successful completion of the program, a license to practice as a registered midwife will be issued after you’ve successfully passed the professional exams by the NMCN
SPECIALTY PROGRAMS
The college offers specialty courses in Post Basic Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing for Nurses aspiring to progress in their careers.
These specialization courses usually run for a minimum duration of 12-18months.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To enroll for any of the programs, you need your O’Level results either WASSCE/NECO with credit in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry which should not be more than two (2) sittings.
You should not be less than 17 years old by the time of admission into the school.
The college recently released a circular stating that aspiring candidates seeking admission into the institution will now have to sit for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) entrance examination to gain entry into the college and this will take effect from the year 2022.
CUT-OFF MARKS
The school cut-off marks range between 45-50% and only candidates with scores above this are invited for an oral interview at the scheduled time.

TUITION FEE
The first-year School fees are N230,000(Two Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira) with accommodation which is only payable before your resumption into the school.
In your second year, you are expected to pay the sum of One Hundred and Forty-Three Thousand Naira (143,000) only as a tuition fee.
And in your final year or third year, you are expected to pay the sum of One Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Naira (185,000) only as a tuition fee.

HOW TO APPLY TO THE SCHOOL
- Visit the website
https://lascon.lagosstate.gov.ng/ - On the page, click on ‘Start Application’ to start your application and complete the registration form. Kindly note you will need your email and will also be required to create a password to log in with it to complete your application.
- After you log in, from the dashboard of your profile, click on ‘Make Payment’.
- Enter your card details to pay the application fee with the online banking application. The last application fee was the sum of NGN15,500:00 (Fifteen Thousand and Five Hundred Naira). Kindly note that this is subject to change and periodic review.
- After a successful payment, your status on the portal will be updated and you will be able to complete the admission form and press the ‘submit’ button to submit your application
- After the submission of the form, a photocard will automatically come up which you should take a printout of in color.
- Please note that only applicants with valid examination photocards (Color Print) will be allowed to write the CBT Entrance Examination.
Things To Keep In Mind For The Application Process
You can only obtain the application form online as there are no hard copy forms sold to applicants.
Since you will be applying online, you are required to have a functional email address and phone number for future contacts.
Examinations are conducted at the stipulated time by the institution.
Examination questions usually cover these subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Introduction to Nursing.
You are advised to keep your log-in details as you will use the same for checking your result.

According to them, Lagos State College Of Nursing, Midwifery and Public Health now uses JAMB for entry and the program is now 5 Years. No longer 3 years.
The Certificate issued would now be RN, RM, RPHN and HND after the whole 5 years.
