Solidarity message from Germany calling for the reinstatement of comrade Aishat and Tega

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are employees of a hospital in Dresden and angry to hear that two of your co-workers (Aishat Ajibola and Prince Tega) were sacked, because of taking part in a strike or speaking up for another dismissed co-worker.
An injury to one is an injury to all of us!
Out of similar reasons workers in Germany are being sacked as well, as we could see in Hamburgs “Asklepiosklinikum” last week.
We can only handle the fight against these dismissals successfully, when we stand in solidarity – in every hospital, in every workplace, worldwide!

It’s the same problems everywhere:
Instead of helping and healing people, pharmaceutical and hospital companies make profit with the illness of people. The number of nursing staff has been reduced. So called efficient thinking leads to the fact that hospitals wards are understaffed.

Especially now, in times of a pandemic the catastrophic impact of this system shows.
On an international level clinics are overloaded and staff overworked.
Although these circumstances exist, clinics are being closed like it happened to us in Dresden, and the number of hospital beds are reduced.
If you complain about that and make it public, the bosses dismiss you – that’s how health politics looks like in capitalism.
That’s why we need to learn to fight together, on an international basis for a public health system under democratic control by the workers, and finally get rid of the aspirations to profits and the efficience-thinking!
We need to insist on campaigns by the trade unions against unjustifiable dismissals and for keeping hospitals and care facilities in public property.
We should raise the need for another system which is not in the interest of profitmaking but the majoity of people, in which we working people are deciding democratically about the wealth earned by everyone to benefit everyone.
Such a world can only be socialist. As members of the CWI (comitee for a workers international) we are raising these ideas because we think it is necessary.
Please keep us updated about your fight against the dismissals. Because this fight isn’t only yours.
Solidarity greetings, Jonas Leuwer, Dorit Hollasky!
